He attained his LLB (Hons) from Mzumbe University and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDL) from the Law School of Tanzania. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.

Kester sits in various boards of multinational companies as a chairman and company secretary.
